About

Denis J. Jiménez is a multidisciplinary storyteller passionate about communicating through visual journalism, design, and data-driven systems. His career began while pursuing a journalism degree at Indiana University–Purdue University Indianapolis, where he served as a staff photographer and managing photo editor for IUPUI Student Media and The Sagamore. During his college career, he worked in a range of multimedia roles and internships with organizations including WIIH Univision Indiana, WISH-TV, the Boy Scouts of America (Crossroads of America Council), ESPN, the NCAA, and Hoy, Chicago’s largest Spanish-language newspaper. He also freelanced for the Hendricks County Flyer and the Westside Flyer, covering high school sports.

Since earning a degree in Journalism with a minor in History in 2015, Denis has expanded his work across visual media, design, and data, applying storytelling principles to brand development, multimedia production, and the design of technical systems for reporting and workflow automation. His design experience includes creating visual identities, marketing materials, and brand systems, including graphic design and brand development work for Spiga LLC and its affiliated brands: Convivio Italian Artisan Cuisine and Caffé Buondí.

During his time at Spiga LLC, Denis rose from pantry cook to Executive Chef of Convivio Zionsville. As Executive Chef, his creativity and passion in the kitchen was exceptional, curating uniquely delicious seafood features that delighted guests nightly; all the while leading a large team of service and kitchen staff, developing seasonal menus, and mastering cost controls. His invaluable contributions spanned far beyond the kitchen, earning heartfelt recognition from the company upon his departure.

In recent years, Denis has further deepened his focus on data, systems, and technical infrastructure through work in higher education and public health. At Indiana University School of Medicine, he supported large-scale programs and statewide initiatives by managing and optimizing complex Salesforce environments, developing automated workflows using Python, and producing high-stakes reporting and dashboards for federally funded programs. He also built a healthcare education data pipeline from scratch using ETL processes and API integrations, ingesting and processing complex datasets to enable reliable reporting.

Drawing on over eight years of project management experience from culinary leadership and technical roles, he excels at coordinating cross-functional teams and driving measurable outcomes in dynamic environments. A Salesforce Certified Administrator, Denis brings hands-on experience in data auditing, system optimization, compliance and security, and the creation of documentation and training materials for both technical and non-technical users. Across disciplines, this work reflects his ability to apply a storyteller’s mindset to data, ensuring information is accurate, accessible, and actionable.
