While talking with Mike Wolanin at Barley Island Brewing Company in Noblesville, Indiana, we started up a conversation with this Marie about photography. The conversation started because Mike and I were shooting at the bar, while drinking some beers, which happens to be very fun. We talked with her for about an hour. She asked us to look at her camera because it wasn’t taking good pictures. She had a Sony Alpha A55. Mike and I played with it and after taking some good shots in this very dark bar, we showed the photos to her. She was amazed that her camera could take pictures like that. So, for the next 45 minutes we gave her a crash course in photojournalism. And like photographers properly taught by Jim W. Brown, we gave her homework. “Take ten pictures of people you don’t know and bring them back next week,” Mike said. Then I realized we just gave her the “Strangers assignment” from J210. Funny.
